EDUCATION IN SINGAPORE
Over the past twenty years, Singapore's education system has been in focus worldwide, thanks to the repeated successes of its students in international tests for successful educational systems, such as PISA. This model has been hailed as a reference by countries aiming to reform what many governments see as an inability to promote the emergence of high standards of educational achievement. Could it be that the case of Singapore offers useful lessons for progress toward successful educational systems?
The international seminar 'Secondary and Vocational Education System in Singapore' was held in Singapore from 12 to 17 April 2016. The invited delegation included heads of educational institutions and experts, in addition to representatives of Russian regional and municipal authorities.
DIALOG gave all participants the opportunity to learn about Singapore's secondary education methods. This forum was designed to implement effective procedures to improve vocational training in Russia. A number of themes concerning the main challenges and current trends in secondary education and vocational training in Singapore have been addressed. Hence, our guests have learned extensively about the latest innovations in education and research institutions, teaching quality and its development strategies, and about equipment and technologies made available to educational institutions.
