CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY IN HONG KONG
From March 23rd through 28th a seminar titled "Advanced technologies in construction" was held in Hong Kong. It was attended by directors and chief engineers of the largest construction companies in Russia and Kazakhstan.
This educational tour was practical in nature and so the delegates had the opportunity not only to exchange experience with foreign colleagues and discuss issues of cooperation, but also were able to visit the largest construction companies in Hong Kong. In the course of these visits, several presentations were given to introduce the participants to the major technologies used by these companies. Participants also visited construction sites and recently completed construction projects. Members of the delegation were afforded the chance, while chaperoned by representatives of the companies, to visit the most technologically advanced building in the world: Zero Carbon Building, as well as THE FORUM Tower at the famous EXHANGE SQUARE and the second tallest building in Hong Kong - one of the towers of the International Financial Center.
Of particular interest to the participants was a meeting with the representatives of the Builders Association of Hong Kong (HKCA) and presentation by its executive director - Christopher To. He discussed such hot topic issues of the construction industry as: reduction of costs and the application of emerging technologies in construction.
Most of the delegates are managers and leading specialists of construction companies in Russia and Kazakhstan. At the conclusion of the seminar, they thanked the organizers and hosts for practically oriented events and for the opportunity to get acquainted with the modern technologies used in the construction industry of one the leading financial hubs in Asia.
